Charleroi Locks & Dam Emptying Basin
SCOPE
- Seven precast reinforced concrete segments form the outer shell of the 50’ x 110’ Emptying Basin.
Each precast segment weighed up to 220 tons. - Segments were fabricated at a specially PCI Certified site along the river near the dam.
- Use of massive stay-in-place steel formwork formed basin walls.
