Beaver Stadium Revitalization

SCOPE
Penn State University is in the second year of its ambitious, three-year, $700 million renovation of Beaver Stadium. Brayman Precast was commissioned to manufacture and deliver 100 precast stair units. These stairs grant access to the newly expanded West Side Concourses, including the Field Level, Main, and Upper Concourse areas. Once completed, these upgrades will more than double the concourse square footage on the stadium’s west side. Transitioning to the logistical implementation, Brayman Precast delivered 52 stair units during the initial phase, each weighing about 53,000 lbs. These units form the structural backbone of the new West Side entrance gates, which were engineered to optimize spectator flow. Alongside these stairways, enhancements to vertical circulation are underway, including new escalators, elevators, and pedestrian ramps.
Phase 1 construction, which included stairs up to the fourth-floor club level, was finished before the launch of the 2025 football season. Now that we are moving into Phase 2, we are on track to finalize scheduled deliveries by the end of April. Brayman Precast’s scope has expanded: a change order for 24 additional interior bowl stairs was awarded, worth an extra $169,750.00. Our Team has completed units for the 2026 upper seating area, and production for 2027 requirements begins later this summer.
Shifting to project metrics, this contract is among the most significant in Brayman Precast’s history, requiring high material throughput and precise fabrication. To date, the project has involved more than 1,342 yards of concrete, over 100 tons of fabricated reinforcing steel, and the production of 124 specialized precast stair sections.
